Campus Support Labs
Three campus support labs perform research and development in support of projects at OVRO. Lab activities include optimization of low noise amplifiers, receiver and focal plane array development as well as the development of tools for real time data analysis.
Cahill Radio Astronomy Lab (CRAL)
The CRAL, in a cross-disciplinary collaboration with JPL as well as campus and industry partners, works to improve low noise amplifiers for radio astronomy and use them in innovative focal plane array receivers.
Lead: Kieran Cleary
Receiver Lab
The Receiver Lab design, fabricates, and tests electronics in support of OVRO’s low frequency experiments.
Lead: Sandy Weinreb
Software and Algorithms Lab
The Software and Algorithms Lab supports science analysis and operations of OVRO facilities. The group builds tools for real-time data analysis, high-throughput computing, and resilient control systems.
